Allies, by definition, are not members of the group they want to be allied with.. and there are many such groups that need allies, especially right now. For white allies like myself, very naive, this is not always easy, and many mistakes are made. Our white privilege tells us subconsciously that we have the answers.

How can we have ANY answers without personally experiencing discrimination? I try to listen, not talk. Not easy. And as more of us are willing to put something on the line for this: our safety, our worldview, our friendships, our lives, really, a small glimmer of understanding could happen.
