I can appreciate this so easily. My best friend is a lesbian, and there are no “strings” attached from either side. I am happily married, and my wife and my best friend get along very well… we often spend time together. There is, by definition, no competition. Although this may sound very weird, it is only because (I think) this type of male-female friendship is so rare, and what a shame that it is.
