If everyone stayed in their lane this would not be an issue. “You do you” is my favorite line from your essay. You know, I hated asparagus as a child, and now I love it (granted with butter and garlic)… does that mean I am now my own enemy? I don’t think so.

The current re-emphasis on this allows the bigots room to bigot. Anyone who requires others to toe their line, whether it be religion, sex/gender or politics (I am having a bit of a struggle with this one, admittedly) is not my people. The word righteous does not imply being right, if it ever did.

Thanks so much, Kris, your writing always makes me think, and almost always lets me see things more clearly.
