Let this be a warning

A very short story here from Florida. If you are LGBT you need to know Florida is awful, and seems to be getting worse. Also, anything having to do with body autonomy is at risk or worse. Naked bigotry and fascism is unashamed here.

The new open or concealed carry without any training whatsoever is starting to be a disaster and will continue to be. Remember we also have the stand your ground law, which produces gunfights in the street like in 1885. Just wonderful.

Unless DeSantis is stopped, Florida may be the first state to secede, or at least second after Texas.

How do we stop Desantis? That is a question a 68 year old cannot answer. Perhaps if something like this had happened in the 70's I would have an answer. Right now, my wife and I are just hoping to weather this, whatever it is, and how long it lasts. We will do what we can with our limited resources, for example I will be working at pride in a week.

Having said all that let me repeat my offer of our extra bedroom to anyone in South Florida, Delray Beach specifically, needing a safe place at least temporarily. The way to contact us is through PFLAG, that way there's some vetting going on and I think that's a good idea. I really don't hope to see any of you but if I do you will be safe at our house!
